10 Most Beautiful Beaches In Quy Nhon, Vietnam

Are you planning to visit Quy Nhon, Vietnam? While this coastal city is often overlooked on the travel map, Quy Nhon has plenty of beautiful beaches waiting to be discovered.

In this guide, I share the best beaches in Quy Nhon and tips to make the best of your trips.

Ky Co

Ky Co beach is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam, with blue sea, white sand, golden sunshine.

The beach is located at the foot of Phuong Mai mountain in Nhon Ly commune, about 25km northeast of Quy Nhon city.

It takes about 1 hour to drive from the city, and we love the scenery along the way.

An exciting activity you can experience here is coral diving. You can hire a small boat to the other islands and see the coral clusters, resulting from about 18,000 years to 20,000 years of growth and development.

Eo Gio

Just about 15 minutes by bike from Ky Co, Eo Gio is another beautiful beach that you should visit.

The blue sea is surrounded by high, long cliffs, embracing an arc, creating a beautiful, unique inlet strait.

The distinctive feature of Eo Gio is the rock. Standing from above, you will see a lot of stones with many different exciting shapes. All of them have a wild and magnificent look created by nature.

Bai Xep

Bai Xep is located in the Bai Xep beach forest eco-tourism area, only about 12 km from Quy Nhon city on National Highway 1D.

With a long coastline, clear blue water, and natural rock formations of various shapes, Bai Xep has created its character.

This place is entirely separate from the bustling city, offering a peaceful and wild look on the shore.

From Bai Xep, you can travel 1km more to reach Bai Dai beach.

Queen’s Beach

Only about 3km southeast of Quy Nhon city center, Queen beach (Hoang Hau beach) is an exciting spot to visit.

Legend says that King Bao Dai – the last king of Vietnam’s feudal dynasty, was fascinated by the scenery when visiting this place in the past. He sent troops to rest with his wife, Queen Nam Phuong.

The beach also has another name, Egg beach, because the beach features several round, smooth, egg-like green stones stacked on top of each other.

I have visited here a few times and especially love it during the sunset.

Cu Lao Xanh island

Cu Lao Xanh is a beautiful island located about 14km from the mainland. It’s considered the “Pearl of the East Sea” with outstanding white-sand beaches and unspoiled landscapes.

Along with the lush green color is the simple but peaceful life of a fishing village lying on the side of the mountain, blending with the white color of the long sandy beach.

Start your exploration with a hike up to the lighthouse built in the French period.

This lighthouse is 119m, and it was the highest in Indochina at that time. It can shine light from about 25 nautical miles ~ 50km. Impressive, right?

After the lighthouse, you can follow small paths to the beach. You’ll see beautiful wildflowers here and enjoy the blue sea and sandy beach. In the afternoon, you can go to the port and watch the sunset in the fishing village.

Quy Nhon beach

Quy Nhon beach is located in the center of Quy Nhon city, so it’s very convenient to visit as you need to walk a little to reach the beach.

The coastline is about 5 km long, curving in the shape of a “crescent moon” running from Mui Tan to Ghenh Rang with characteristic golden sands and an eye-catching clear blue sea.

There are a few bars and cafes on the beach.

Bai Bang Beach

About 12km from the city, Bai Bang is another beautiful beach to visit in Quy Nhon.

Bai Bang beach is clean, beautiful, green, and surrounded by large mountains. There are also lovely stilt houses, gently swaying hammocks to give visitors the most comfortable feeling when coming here.

Coming to Bai Bang, you can participate in interesting entertainment activities such as climbing, fishing, walking in the forest, and visiting Bai Bang fishing village.

Hon Kho island

Hon Kho Beach is one of 32 islands located near the shore of Binh Dinh, about 16km from Quy Nhon city center.

To get from the mainland to Hon Kho, you can choose a passenger boat or experience traveling on the sea with a fisherman’s basket boat.

Hon Kho island is home to a traditional fishing village Nhon Hai, and almost all households here have been fishing for generations.

While the coastline is not very long, there’re colorful coral reefs right near the beach. Hon Kho also has a lovely wooden path surrounding the island.

Trung Luong Beach

Trung Luong Beach is located in the Trung Luong picnic area.

This beach doesn’t stretch too long, but the water is clear and blue. Especially, the waves here are very smooth, whether in the rainy season or the dry season.

Here, you can find a beautiful beachfront restaurant, an excellent place for sunset and dining.

Bai Bau

Bai Bau is a peaceful destination with clean and clear water. The beach is surrounded by two cliffs protruding into the sea, so it’s completely isolated from the outside world.

This place is very suitable for those who love nature and want to explore unspoiled and mysterious places.
