Jeju Island is South Korea‘s gem when it comes to beach vacations. Whether you’re into snorkeling, or just lounging with a cocktail in hand, Jeju’s got you covered. I’ve spent a fair bit of time exploring these beaches in Jeju, and they’re as diverse as they come.
You’ve got Hyeopjae Beach with its stunning turquoise waters, or Gwakji Gwamul Beach if you’re more into the café culture and white sands.
In this guide, I’ll take you to the most breathtaking Jeju beaches.
Gwakji Gwamul Beach
Gwakji Gwamul Beach is a stunning beach on the eastern side of Jeju Island.
It’s known for its soft sand and clear blue waters. The beach stretches over three kilometers long and is surrounded by large black rocks giving it a unique look.
Activities available include swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and kayaking. Don’t miss the picturesque sunset over the horizon – an excellent way to end your day!
In addition to all this, various restaurants and cafes offer delicious local cuisine.
My tip is to be careful when going into the waters. The strong currents and waves at Gwakji Gwamul Beach may pose a danger for inexperienced swimmers.
How to get to
You can get to Gwakji beach by bus or car. Just drive down the east coast until your reach Udo Island – Read my Jeju car rental tips for more information.
