About Nho Que river

Nho Que river flows from the Yunnan mountains in China and enters Vietnam at Seo Lung Village, Lung Cu Commune, Dong Van District, Ha Giang.

The river is about 46 km, flowing through the jagged rocks of the Dong Van rock plateau, creating a strong flow with countless white rapids.

Nho Que River used to be different from how it is now and was used as water and fishing resources. The water now flows more gently thanks to a hydroelectric project.

How to get to Nho Que wharf?

You go towards Ma Pi Leng pass from Dong Van town, then continue towards Meo Vac district.

At the end of Ma Pi Leng, there is a sign to turn left to Xin Cai. Continue going towards Xin Cai for another 7 km, and you will see Nho Que wharf. It takes about 20 minutes from the sign to the wharf.

How much is Nho Que’s boat ticket?

Cruising along Nho Que River is one of the most exciting things to do in Ha Giang. Sitting on a boat, you can see the beautiful natural scenery and the majestic Tu San Abyss Alley.

The ticket price for Nho Que boat is 120,000 VND (~$5) per person, including the transit to the pier. The boat trip is about 30 minutes.

After buying the tickets, you’ll need to wait a bit for the bus to the pier.

Best time to visit Nho Que river

You can visit the river any time of the year, however, the best time to visit Nho Que river is from the middle of September to November. It’s also the season of harvests and buckwheat flowers.

Also, it’s best to avoid the rainy season (typhoons) or rainy days because the river’s color will be muddy and not green.
