Nguyen Thien Thuat Apartment Buildings: A Brief Guide
Saigon is the most dynamic and bustling city in Vietnam. However, the town still hides ancient and rustic values over time, and one of the most outstanding examples is the Nguyen Thien Thuat apartment buildings in District 3.
Nguyen Thien Thuat Apartment Buildings History
The historic Mau Than 1968 event destroyed many houses in Saigon. Therefore, the government was forced to plan and rebuild residential areas, including the Nguyen Thien Thuat apartment complex.
The buildings first housed American soldiers, but it was used for Vietnamese residents after Independence Day.
This residential area has 11 buildings, and about 120 households formed around 1968.
As the apartment has existed for nearly half a century, the residents here are, therefore, closely connected from wartime to peacetime.
Explore Nguyen Thien Thuat apartment
When I first visited Nguyen Thien Thuat residential area, I was amazed by these buildings’ nostalgic and idyllic beauty. Every corner of the street still looms over Saigon’s image before 1975.
Interlacing as a matrix with alleys and small roads, the building complex is charming with the back alleys and unmarked houses.
Wandering around the old apartment buildings, I could see the lovely and close images of the neighbors talking in front of the balcony, on the bench, or the children running around in the corridors.
Places to eat in Nguyen Thien Thuat apartment buildings
Like other old buildings in Saigon, Nguyen Thien Thuat combines parking lots, café shops, and street food vendors.
