Things to know before visiting Botanical Garden Phong Nha
In my opinion, the name is quite misleading as it’s not a botanic garden in a real sense, and it looks more like a jungle plot with paths.
I thought it would be a stroll around a flower garden, but it was more of a hike. Most roads were quite challenging to walk, as they were slippery and rocky.

Reviews:
If you’re in a rush, I would suggest going straight to the waterfall and enjoying the view of the Botanical garden.
Otherwise, the 1.5-hour route is an optimal one, and you will be able to see the main attractions of the forest. The main difference between the 1.5 and 3-hour course is a century-old tree.
Things to do in Botanical Garden Phong Nha
Visit the Exhibition house
Before entering the forest, visitors can visit the exhibition house presenting rare and precious animal and plant specimens typical of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.
Explore the forest
Following the small pathway, you will get into the woods.

To go deep into the forest, visitors must swing themselves along a big rope running along with the slot. Slippery boulders, hidden streams, dangerous cliffs make the journey challenging and exciting.

You will be amazed by the rich flora with nearly 500 tree species of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, including rare and precious timber trees.

The deeper you go into the forest, the lower the temperature, so it’s hot even in the middle of the summer, and the air is still fresh.
Chill at Vang Anh lake
Vang Anh lake is an interesting point of the Botanical garden.
Located quietly under the shadow of primeval forest, Vang Anh Lake is a great place to relax by swimming, camping, resting, watching orchids, or listening to birds chirping and singing.

Admire Gio WaterFalls (Thac Gio)
Following the uneven wooden stairs on the cliff, you will get closer to the foot of the Gio Waterfalls.

You’ll get to see the freshwater flowing through the big stones along with the slot, admiring the falls or taking pictures with them.
