Here is a list of the ten most beautiful waterfalls in Vietnam from North to South.

Ban Gioc waterfall

Located on the border with China, Ban Gioc (Detian falls) is Vietnam’s most beautiful waterfall.

It’s also the largest waterfall in Asia and the 4th largest cross-border fall in the world.

Magnificent and impressive is how I describe this waterfall. Amid the mountain scenery, the waterfall appears like white silk falling through different cascades.

I highly recommend renting a raft and cruising along the waterfall. At only $2 per person, you can get close to the foot of the falls and enjoy the impressive view.

While you can visit Ban Gioc waterfall any time of the year, it’s most impressive during the rainy season (September to December).

The best time to visit Ban Gioc waterfall is from September to October, as you’ll see the rice paddy fields coated in bright yellow.

May waterfall (Thac May) is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Northern Vietnam.

The waterfall is deep in Muong village, near Cuc Phuong Nation Park, about 100km from Hanoi.

Dray Nur waterfall

Dray Nur is the most impressive waterfall in Vietnam’s Central Highlands. This waterfall is about 25 km from Buon Me Thuot, and you can get there easily by bike or bus. 

Dray Nur falls from a height of 30 m cliff and has a total length of 250m.

The water at the foot of the waterfall gently flows around the rocks. It is shallow and clear, and you can see schools of fish swimming.

For a thrilling experience, cross the wooden suspension bridge built across the river! 

You can also explore the nearby primeval forest and see ancient trees up to thousands of years old with huge stumps and roots.

Yang Bay waterfall

About 45 km from Nha Trang, Yang Bay waterfall is located in the middle of a large and beautiful valley.

This place was originally an ancient forest with a fresh and cool climate. You can find three waterfalls here: Yang Bay, Yang Khang, and Hocho.

 Yang Bay is the main waterfall, with a height of 80 m and a length of 2,000 m. In addition to waterfalls, the area also has several lakes and caves.

Elephant waterfall

Elephant waterfall (Thac Voi), also known as Lieng Rowoa waterfall, is one of the most impressive waterfalls in Vietnam.

The waterfall is located in Nam Ban commune, Lam Ha district, Lam Dong province.

It’s about 30 km from the center of Da Lat city, and it takes about 45 minutes to get there.

Pongour Waterfall

Pongour is far from Da Lat city center but well worth visiting.

Located 50km from Da Lat city,  it takes about 1 hour by bike with breathtaking scenery along the way.

Pongour Waterfall falls from a 40-meter-tall and 100-width cliff into a valley.

It’s divided into seven cascades, and the waterfall looks like soft and smooth silk strips on mossy green rocks, creating a beautiful and captivating scene. 

Pongour becomes more intense in the rainy season, with solid water rushing from above.

Dambri

Dambri is one of the highest waterfalls in Vietnam. The waterfall has a height of over 57m, falling down a cliff, creating a poetic and majestic scene.

The surrounding area is an ancient forest with hundreds of rare and precious species of flora and fauna. You can even find ancient trees with a diameter of more than 3 m.

Visiting the waterfall, you can take the 1,650 m long slide and participate in the gong festival, rowing, and fishing.

Suoi Tranh waterfall

Suoi Tranh is a small but charming waterfall about 10 km from Duong Dong town, Phu Quoc island.

The fall is surrounded by lush green scenery, caves, and rock pools.

The ticket counter is a 20-minute walk through the forest to the falls. Here, you can swim and relax on the nearby rocks.

It’s best to visit the waterfall during the rainy season (June to September), but it’s still worth visiting in the dry season.
