In this article, I share a brief guide to Linh Ung Pagoda and tips to plan your trip there.
About Linh Ung pagoda Da Nang
There are three Linh Ung pagodas in Da Nang, and the most famous one is on Son Tra Peninsula.
Here, the temple leans back on the peninsula, facing the East Sea, with the beautiful scenery of Hai Van Pass in the distance. The total area is up to 20 hectares, well decorated with several statues and trees, creating a pleasant feeling.
It also has the tallest Bodhisattva statue in Vietnam, at the height of 67 meters. The Buddha also stands on a giant lotus and a praying charming, so overall, it looks very impressive.
By visiting the pagoda, you can relax and find peace amid a pure, sacred place.
You can also pray for peace and luck for yourselves and your family members. It’s believed that this temple is sacred, and those who come here sincerely to pray will have their wishes fulfilled.
Also, you can visit the nearby attractions such as Bai But beach, Ban Co peak, and the thousand-year-old banyan tree.

From Dragon bridge, you can follow Vo Van Kiet street leading to the beach. Then turn right at Vo Nguyen Giap street and go straight along with Hoang Sa. Follow this sea road to Son Tra Peninsula and the pagoda.
It takes about 30 minutes in total to get to the pagoda.
Note: If you decide to drive there by motorbike, you should check the vehicle carefully when traveling, especially for the brakes. Because the road often has many dangerous turns.
Best time to visit Linh Ung pagoda
Because the temple is located outdoors in a large space, surrounded by mountains and forests, the best time to visit Linh Ung pagoda is from March to September.
It’s also the dry season in Da Nang, and the weather is quite dry, with no rain and a clear blue sky. This period is excellent for sightseeing, and the area is covered in lush green color.
However, Da Nang also sees the highest tourist rate this time. Therefore, you should book your accommodation in Da Nang in advance, at least two weeks, to get the best deals.
If you plan to go from October to December, expect heavy rain, fog, and even storms. The roads can be pretty slippery, and it’s not ideal for sightseeing. Please check my Da Nang travel time guide for more information.
Tips for visiting Linh Ung pagoda
When visiting a spiritual destination such as Linh Ung Pagoda in Da Nang, you should wear a polite outfit. Avoid shorts or tops, which are offensive when visiting the relic site.
I highly recommend bringing a hat or umbrella and water on your trip. It could be very sunny, hot and crowded during your visit.
Also, please refrain from smoking or talking too loudly inside the temple.
