I very much enjoyed Ryokan Sanga, it doesn't get better than this. Everything was exceptional, everywhere was impeccable, everyone was enjoyable. The room, the food, the service, the baths, the premises, the forest, the town, etc.

Located among tranquil Japanese gardens, Ryokan Sanga features spacious open-air hot spring baths and classic Japanese-style guest rooms with a relaxing ambiance. The cozy lobby lounge comes with comfortable sofas, a fireplace and free Wi-Fi. Free parking is available. Offering a historic charm, each room is fitted with tatami (woven-straw) flooring and traditional futon bedding, and features a low table and chairs for guests to unwind with. A flat-screen TV, a fridge and an electric kettle with tea bags are also provided. Sanga Ryokan offers in-room massages at an extra charge. Guests can purchase souvenirs at the on-site gift shop, or leave their luggage at the front desk. The property is a 50-minute drive from JR Aso Station, or a 5-minute drive from Kurokawa Onsen Bus Stop. Free pick-up shuttles are available from the bus stop if requested at time of booking. Mangan-ji Temple is a 10-minute drive away, and Mount Aso is a 60-minute drive from the ryokan. Lavish Japanese multi-course dinner featuring local beef steak is served in the dining room.
