I absolutely loved landing on this place on my first night in Tokyo. I highly recommend it. It is an old guesthouse full of charm. They hold shamisen lessons sometimes, and listening to it in the morning was beautiful. Some may criticize the old carpet and doors, I just see a truly *authentic* place to stay and start experiencing Japan. The neighborhood is really nice and it is very well connected to Narita (I took a bus). Breakfast was also brilliant.

This is the best hostel I have ever stayed in my life. Comfortable hostel with bathtub, super nice staff. Their breakfast is super delicious and made with heart. Love Ito Ryokan so much. Hope that I can revisit you when I travel to Tokyo again!

We stayed here for the first four nights of our Japan trip. What an incredible authentic experience. Totally different than a western hotel. We already were excited and prepared for sleeping on the floor and shared bath facilities which we enjoyed. Everything was clean and orderly. Do not worry shampoo, body wash, face wash, clean towels, razor, q tips, hear dryer, and clothing refresh spray was all available. We absolutely loved the staff every single person was incredibly warm and helpful. Do not skip the Japanese breakfast. We got it every morning and it was totally different every day. Chefs were really thoughtful and explained everything and even made a special Japanese side Natto for my children to see what they would think. It was an amazing value and unforgettable experience for all of us.

The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, & really went above and beyond to make my trip to Japan a wonderful experience. For example, I mentioned to the manager that I had an interest in tea, & she knew a local tea ceremony teacher, contacted him on my behalf, and was able to arrange a private tea ceremony lesson during my visit. It was the highlight of my trip!

The experience is amazing, after 4 hotel with 4 starts, this ryokan is definitely the best choice. The rooms are huge and very comfy. The bathroom is amazing, we feel Japanese the neighborhood is perfect a lot of restaurants with many options.

Location is very central and close to a few subway line stops. Lovely and quiet neighborhood. Room is clean with decorative Japanese mural interior. Private bathroom is spacious, mattress and pillow on tatami is more comfortable than I expected. Homemade Japanese style breakfast each morning is warm and welcoming. Room is well equipped, just perhaps need some English translation on how to operate certain electrical appliances in the room. Overall an excellent stay!

The staff at the hotel are very nice and friendly. The Japanese breakfast was very good. The location is perfect, if you want to experience the Japanese traditional commercial area Ningyocho. Less than 5 minutes walk distance to the subway. To the Haneda airport, there is line A to reach directly. If you use the 48h Tokyo subway pass, you would need to pay 370yen of extra when arriving at Haneda airport station.
