About Mooc Spring Phong Nha
Nestled under the dense canopy of the jungle and limestone cliffs, Mooc spring is a hidden gem in Quang Binh, Vietnam.
With cool weather, this attraction is an excellent place to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy a picnic with friends or family members.

I loved following the eco-trail, walking along the wooden bridge to the start of the stream.
Sitting in the middle of the cool water with the sound of streams and birds singing everywhere, it seemed that all the worries and stress disappeared quickly.

Best places to stay near Mooc Spring
As the hotel system in Mooc spring has not been developed, you must return to Phong Nha town or Dong Hoi if you’d like to stay overnight.
Staying in Phong Nha town is an excellent choice as you can easily reach most of the attractions with your bike.
I recommend staying at Phong Nha Farmstay. I had a wonderful time enjoying a scenic sunset on the farm while sipping a cocktail after going to the pool.

How to get to Mooc Spring
Mooc Spring is located on West branch of Ho Chi Minh road in Phúc Trạch, Bố Trạch, Quảng Bình, The area is about 2.8 km from Dark Cave Phong Nha and 22km from Phong Nha town.
To visit the Mooc River, you need to get to either Phong Nha or Dong Hoi and drive there.
You can take trains or flights to Dong Hoi from major cities in Vietnam, such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, or Da Nang.
From Dong Hoi airport, you can take a taxi or local bus to Phong Nha town (about 50 km ~1-hour drive), then rent a bike/car to Nuoc Moc stream (about 20 km).
Alternatively, you can take a direct bus from Hanoi or Hue to Phong Nha.

Mooc Spring entrance fee
There are two types of entrance tickets. Please note that you cannot return after purchasing.
+ Entrance ticket: 80,000 VND/ ticket / person
This ticket price is only an entrance ticket, not including any service.
+ Package tickets: 180,000 VND/ ticket / person
With this ticket, you will be able to use all the package services such as Bathing streams, Kayaking, life jackets, renting a hut, or participating in the outdoor games.
I purchased the package ticket and was happy with the service. It was just 100,000 VND extra, but I could enjoy the best of the trip.

Best time to visit Mooc Spring
The best time to visit Mooc Spring is from March to May. During this time, the weather is cool and comfortable, suitable for outdoor activities in the attraction.
The temperature rises from June to August, and the heat may make you easily tired.
You should avoid going there during the rainy season, from September to November. There are usually rainstorms at this time, hindering the travel itinerary.

Things to see in Mooc Spring
Visiting Mooc spring, I was amazed by the beautiful natural scenery. The dense primeval trees covering high cliffs create a fresh and charming natural space.

I was also impressed with the emerald green streams and the diversity of plants.
Seeing beautiful butterflies fluttering on the trees or above the flowers and flying around was a highlight of my trip.


Also, sitting in the hut, watching the peaceful surroundings, and breathing in the fresh air was enough to make my trip pleasant.
I also love trying outdoor activities here. We went kayaking around the designed area and swam in the river.

What to eat in Mooc Spring
There’s a small restaurant in Mooc Spring, offering grilled chicken, grilled pork, and sticky rice. The dishes are served per gram (250gr, 500 gr, and 1 kg), so it’s convenient to choose.
You can also purchase drinks here as well.

My friend and I had a tasty meal while enjoying the charm of nature.
What to pack for Mooc Spring
To prepare well for your trip to Mooc Spring, you should bring a bikini or swimsuit for swimming in the stream. In addition, prepare a towel to wipe the person dry after swimming.
Also, don’t forget to bring sunglasses and suncream. Even though the weather is cool, you should protect your skin with suncream as you may stay outside for a long time.
And yet, notice that you should dress comfortably. Wearing sandals is best because wearing shoes may be very annoying when bathing the stream.
