By Car/ Scooter
Renting a car in Krabi gives you the freedom to explore the region at your own pace.
If you’re behind the wheel or on a scooter, the 20-minute scenic drive from Krabi Town via Route 4203 offers mesmerizing landscapes, perfect for those “I need to stop and capture this” moments.
If you arrive at Krabi Airport, you can also take a private transfer or shared minivan to Ao Nang.

For a local experience, hop onto one of the shared taxis known as Songthaews.
Costing 70 Baht, it’s both an adventure and a convenient mode of transportation rolled into one.
Where to Stay Near Ao Nang Beach, Krabi
From luxury resorts overlooking Ao Nang Beach to budget-friendly hostels teeming with backpackers, there’s accommodation for every traveler.
For a beachfront resort, I recommend Centara Ao Nang Beach Resort. Its location is great, with direct access to the beach, and the rooms are spacious and clean.
Ban Sainai Resort and Aonang Hill Krabi are also excellent choices, with beautiful rooms nestled amid lush tropical gardens.
If you’re a solo traveler, check out K-Bunk Hostel and Pop-In Aonang. They’re great for meeting people and joining activities. There’s always something going on.

Ao Nang Beach has a tropical climate, which, like most Southeast Asian destinations, has two main seasons.
Dry Season (November to April):
Perfect beach weather! Though it gets a bit touristy from December to February, resulting in soaring prices, the vibrant ambiance is worth it.

- Railay Beach: The rock climbing experience here is surreal, with cliffs and views that’ll take your breath away. Or you can simply lay on the beach and do nothing!

The heartbeat of Ao Nang! Not only is it the perfect place for souvenir shopping, but it’s also a chance to mingle.
You’ll find artisans displaying their crafts, from wooden trinkets to beautiful hand-painted fabrics. I got this beautiful scarf that’s become my favorite travel memento.
Also, Ao Nang Town has seen a delightful rise in quaint cafés. Sip on a refreshing Thai iced tea or dive into a bowl of traditional ‘Bua Loi’ (sweet rice balls) while watching the world go by.
